Billet Forge Works is a heavy steel forging and fabrication works. We take a piece of forged or rolled steel billet and turn it into a shaft, flange, ring, or fabricated assembly that has to hold a real load, in a real service environment, for a real service life — not a part optimized to look right on a drawing.
We run open-die forging for large, simple shapes where directional grain flow and section soundness matter more than an intricate profile, closed-die (drop) forging for higher-volume or geometrically complex parts, and seamless ring rolling for flanges, bearing races, and other axially-symmetric ring shapes where a rolled ring’s continuous circumferential grain flow genuinely outperforms a ring cut from plate or bar stock. Heat treatment, non-destructive testing, and full material traceability are in-house on every job, not outsourced afterthoughts.
We publish real forging engineering reference material on this site — see the heat-color chart, the press-force calculator, and the steel-grade comparator on the home page — because a purchasing engineer or a project manager who understands roughly why a 4340 forging costs more than a 1045 forging of the same size, or why open-die and closed-die tonnage estimates differ by a factor of five or more for a similar part, is someone we’d rather be quoting a real job for than explaining first principles to after the fact.
