The project
Not every job calls for a forging — a deck equipment support skid is a structural weldment problem, built from plate and structural shapes cut and welded to the vessel operator's layout drawing, with mounting provisions for the equipment it supports and lifting points sized to the skid's own loaded weight. The fabrication scope included full weld procedure qualification documentation and visual plus magnetic-particle inspection of all structural welds before the skid shipped for installation.
The skid was hot-dip galvanized after fabrication per the marine customer’s corrosion-protection specification, with all structural welds inspected and documented prior to the galvanizing step.
